Amazing stay, we were lucky enough to stay in the oldest part of the hotel which was absolutely beautiful. There was a wedding on and we were still made to feel like top priority. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and the restaurant was a lovely environment to sit in. The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Will be staying here again in the future. It was 5 star service catering and accommodation. Fully fully recommend.
The main central part of the hotel was a lovely old manor house with a gate house at the front. The dining room is 'baronial' style with a large, wrought iron circular chandelier and huge fireplace with large picture above. We were in the …
My husband and I stayed for a one night stay, care of Woucher, the driveway was in need of repairs and a sign for the car park would have been beneficial. Our room was in the Gatehouse and historically this was amazing! Clean room but there …
Such a beautiful yet disappointing visit.
The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, we were blown away on arrival.
The staff were very lovely and helpful.
Breakfast was delicious and served in a stunning room and the bar area was pleasant and comfortable.
Unfortunately the room we were allocated (room 38) was not pleasant. The bathroom was in an appalling condition, rotten leaking windowsill inside the shower cubicle, a nasty brown stain running down the bath, the showerhead was thick with limescale and peeling, we were only supplied with one towel between the 2 of us.
The main lights in our room didn't work and the two lights on the wall flickered continuously when switched on.
The bed was not a double but 2 singles pushed together.
The foyer / main entrance to the rooms stank of I'm not sure what but it wasn't nice.
Its a shame because the main building seemed wonderful and I wish I could have rated higher but the room was just awful and looking at other reviews, it's not just our room that has these issues.
Please address them, I would love to come back and be able to write the glowing review you guys deserve.
Absolutely dreadful place. I bought the stay over with a 3 course meal for my partner birthday. I wish I hadn't. I believe they put us in some old dirty outdated room because I had a voucher which I find very upsetting as I paid the same money. First impression was ok about the hotel looks nice from outside but as soon as we reached the reception we felt unwelcome. The women couldn't care less about us. We had ask everything as she didn't give us even the basic info. Good job we ask about dinner that obviously had to book a table she never mentioned.
When we walked into the room I felt sick. It was dirty. The teaspoons was left dirty and dried to the mug with a previous guest coffee the kettle was dirty inside. The wall had a mark all over and a bathroom was that dirty I could not even get myself to step in and take shower. Good job we only stayed a night and we left very early in a morning so I could come home and wash off this feeling.
The dinner was ok but the service was disappointing. They made us sit at the big table midle of the 'restaurant' between the kitchen and the entrance and it was cold and drafty for a next 2 hours. The waiter didn't not know what he was doing which table been asked or been served. We waited a good 20 minutes just to been asked what we wanna drink. Food was ok at the evening but the 'buffet breakfast' was some tesco low budget orange juice and sausage poor choices of pastry.
Well the main thing is we survived the night but would NEVER go back and would never recommend this place to anyone. I wish I never paid that much money for this deal it definitely did not worth it.
Just a beautiful little find. I was lucky enough to visit during a hot weekend which only highlighted the pretty views. The hotel is nestled in trees with a lake behind which my room overlooked. The old part of the hotel held so much history and I enjoyed staying in a character room. My friends stayed in the newer part of the building which was clean and spacious but I preferred my room! I will definitely be back.
Beautiful hotel as soon as you arrive you will be taken back by the stunning building a 16th century Manor House situated in lovely peaceful surroundings.
We were part of my daughters bridal party with a 2 night stay. The rooms were …
Not a bad hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but I doubt I'd stay here again until some money is pumped into it. To note: we did book last minute so I'm sure we were given one of their lesser rooms. The grounds are truly gorgeous and …
We read some pretty awfull reviews about this hotel. However upon arrival we were so surprised to find that there was nothing at all to worry about. The room was clean tidy and in good repair, staff were very pleasant and the food was …
This is by far the best hotel to stay in absolutely beautiful, very relaxing and it feels like you are getting way more than you paid for! The Restaurant is very good and quite grand with a huge fireplace as a backdrop. …
